Goodaupairs aims to provide a hassle-free service to families in the UK and other European Union Countries. Therefore Goodaupairs works hard to develop and maintain a list of suitable Au Pairs and Nannies who are properly vetted. Our Au Pairs for UK families either come from EU memberstates and do not need visas or qualify to become an Au Pair under Tier 5 of the Youth Mobility Scheme. We ensure that our Au Pairs have experience looking after children and fully understand what is expected of them.
We only accept Nannies with appropriate qualifications and/or experience. Our Nannies have been fully vetted and we ensure that they are eligible to work in the UK or other EU memberstate as required.
We take great care to ensure that our Au Pairs and Nannies are eligible under both National legislation and EU Law before we place them in EU memberstates.
How we match Families and Au Pairs or Nannies
If you are looking for a good Au Pair or Nanny we can help you through our careful matching process. Finding the right match will form the basis of a successful placement both for the Au Pair or Nanny and the family.
To achieve the right match when placing an Au Pair, we need to have a good understanding of your requirements, your expectations and what you are able to offer to the Au Pair. This is why our registration form is quite detailed. However, the more information you provide, the better we can match your requirements and expectations with those of our Au Pairs.
Also, it enables us to target specific Au Pairs through targeted advertising if we think that we do not have the right match already available. This additional service which we provide does not cost you anything! Your only commitment at this stage is the time you take to fill out the registration form - this should take approximately 10 minutes – WE DO NOT CHARGE REGISTRATION FEES.
To achieve the right match when placing a Nanny, we need to have a good understanding of your requirements and your expectations, especially to clarify the nanny's and the family's approach in relation to raising the children.
How long does it take to find an Au Pair or Nanny- I need someone now ...
We have Au Pairs and Nannies who have been fully vetted, do not require visas and are immediately available. However, whether we have the best Au Pair or Nanny for your family immediately available will depend on your specific requirements, such as whether you need an experienced driver, and will often also depend on where you live.
Based on our experience, it tends to be easier for a family in or near London to find an Au Pair or Nanny at very short notice compared with a family based in a rural area. However, generally speaking we expect the process to find the right Au Pair or Nanny for your family to take between 1 and 4 weeks.

Especially fully vetted and experienced Au Pairs and fully qualified and experienced Nannies are very much in demand. It is not unusual for an Au Pair or Nanny, to agree a placement with a family within a week. We will not bombard you with possible Candidates, so this should not take up a lot of your time. We provide a tailor made service and focus on your specific requirements. About our Au Pairs and Nannies
Goodaupairs has an up to date database which contains a large number of Au Pairs and Nannies looking for a family in the UK or other EU countries. We get new registrations daily and of course we ensure that our database is continually updated for Au Pairs and Nannies who have found a family.
Most of our Au Pairs and Nannies come from EU countries, such as Spain, France, Italy, Germany, Hungary, Poland and the Czech Republic. However, we also have a number of Au Pairs from other countries which either do not need visas or already have obtained visas under the Tier 5 Youth Mobility Scheme. We ensure that all our Au Pairs and Nannies are fully vetted before they join your family.
Some of our Au Pairs bring specific skills, such as playing a musical instrument. Many of our Au Pairs and Nannies are drivers. Although we check their driving licence, we cannot vouch that their driving skills will match your expectations. We recommend that you check their driving skills yourself and provide a few driving lessons to enable the Au Pair to get used to driving in the UK if she has no previous experience with driving in the UK.
How much does an Au Pair cost?
Most Au Pairs expect pocket money between £65-£100 per week. How much to offer your Au Pair will depend on how many hours you expect her to work, her level of experience, whether she is a native English speaker, and where you are based in the UK. On top of this you will have the additional expenditure on food and family outings and, of course, she will need to have her own room with TV and access to the internet and telephone.
How much does a Nanny cost?
Nannies can be either Live-in or Live-out. Depending on qualifications and experience, the pay for a Live-in nanny ranges from £200-£450 (net salary) for a five day week. For a Live-out nanny ranges from £400-£700 net for a five day week. If you employ a nanny you will formally be her or his employer and you will therefore have to pay tax and if you are based in the UK, also National Insurance. If you are a family based in the UK we can advise you on nanny payroll agencies to save you the hassle and admin of having to deal with these issues, however, you will have to pay a fee to such an agency.

This is a very time consuming process but this means that we know all our Au Pairs and Nannies really well. In our view this is a crucial part of finding the right match for a family who needs a good and reliable person to look after their children.
Another difference between Goodaupairs and many other Au Pair and Nanny agencies is that we conduct a careful matching process, using our experience, rather than a database driven approach. We have numerous conversations both with the family looking for an Au Pair or Nanny and the Au Pairs or Nannies who want to find a family in Britain or other EU member states. But we don't stop there.
We pride ourselves on going the extra mile. We help you arrange interviews, if you prefer, we can arrange conference calls in which we take part as well. We provide you, the family, with sample questions for your interview with our candidate. We provide you with a sample Letter of Invitation once we have agreed on the right Au Pair candidate for your family. If you are based in the UK and seeking to employ one of our nannies we provide you with a sample Employment contract for you to customise and we can also bring you in contact with nanny payroll agencies. Both for Au Pair and Nanny Placements, we provide you with a 30 day replacement guarantee for all placements in excess of 3 months. This means that in the unlikely event of our Au Pair or Nanny having to leave during the first 30 days of the placement you would qualify for a replacement or if we cannot find a replacement a full refund of our fees subject to our Terms and Conditions.
Our services do not stop once the placement has been made. For the duration of the placement we provide a listening ear, advice, full support both to you and the Au Pair or Nanny. We help your Au Pair or Nanny to adjust by giving her our Au Pair or Nanny information and bringing her in touch with other Au Pairs or Nannies in your area whenever possible.

Our fees
We offer free registration. You only pay our placement fee when you agree a placement with one of our Au Pair or Nanny Candidates. Our fees depend on the duration of the placement. Our fees cover all our expenditure and therefore include the full costs of vetting, so there are no hidden extras as is usually the case with internet based agencies.
Also, for all placements longer than 3 months, e.g. all placements except Summer placements, we provide a 30 DAY REPLACEMENT GUARANTEE. In our experience, both families and Au Pairs/Nannies will have a very good idea whether the placement will work out within the first few weeks of the commencement of the placement. This is the rationale behind the 30 day guarantee period which commences at the start of the placement.
