Who can become an Au Pair in the UK?
If you are an citizen of any of the European Union countries you can become an Au pair in the UK. However, there are some restrictions for candidates from Bulgaria and Romania.
We can also place Au Pairs from Japan, Australia, New Zealand and Canada under Tier 5 of the Youth Mobility Scheme. Unfortunately, we are not able to place Au Pairs from any other countries unless you have British citizenship and fulfil the Home Office requirements.

How safe is it to use internet Au Pair matching services?
If you are considering to look for a family through an internet Au Pair service, have you thought about how safe this is? What do you really know about this family? How do you know if you can trust them? What would you do if there is nobody to collect you from the airport? Or if the family doesn't stick to what they promised you when you accepted? What if it doesn't work out? Why take the risks? Goodaupairs is not an internet based matching service, we are a traditional Au Pair agency based in Buckinghamshire with a website.

Goodaupairs helps you find the right family. We know all our families, we have numerous conversations with them. We know what they are looking for in an Au Pair, their requirements, expectations, personalities.
We also make sure that we get to know all our Au Pair candidates. So we want to know what you are looking for in a family, your expectations, personality, whether you want to go to courses, etc. This is why we have quite a long registration form both for families and Au Pairs. The information provided forms the basis for our matching process. We then supplement this information through our telephone conversations with you and prospective host families.
Once we have a possible match, we arrange for an interview. We provide both you and the family with sample questions for your initial conversation with each other. We then speak to you and the family to find out how it went. Most of our families will expect at least two conversations, by phone or video call or if you are already in the UK possibly in person.
We make sure that you know what the family expects from you and the family knows what you expect from them. We lay the foundation to ensure that you have a great time. For both you and the family it is crucial that you get on with each other. We help the family to write a 'Letter of Invitation' to you which we then discuss with you. Our aim is not to match any Au Pair with any family, our aim is to ensure the right match. After all, a happy Au Pair is a good Au Pair. Goodaupairs also help you plan your travel and movements, to make it cheaper, safer and hassle free.
On-going support once the placement has been made
Goodaupairs offers you on-going support once the placement has been made. Goodaupairs helps you to get in touch with other Au Pairs so you can make new friends and share your experiences, making your experience abroad even more enjoyable.
We get in touch on a regular basis to see how you get on, to advise you on how you might go about making new friends with other Au Pairs or other young people. We provide you with an information pack once the placement has been made. We can help with practical issues, such as mobile phone providers, low-cost travel once in the UK, etc. Most importantly, you can always contact us if you have any questions, doubts or problems.
Furthermore, you might want to register with Skype or Windows Messenger to stay in touch with family and friends at home. Once you are in the UK, you may want to get a UK SIM card to put in your mobile phone to make phone calls within the UK.
We treat your personal information with great care
Unlike some other agencies, Goodaupairs does not send your personal and sensitive information to prospective families. We do not email your photocopies of all kind of documentation to all and sundry. We do the vetting and handle all information in accordance with the Data Protection Act. We only send your information to a prospective family after you have agreed to this and once the family has shown a clear interest in having you as their Au Pair. If for whatever reason you don't want to go ahead or have found a family through another Au Pair Agency then please inform us and we destroy the information you have provided to us. Your information is in safe hands with Goodaupairs.
We are different from many European Au Pair agencies because our services are totally free for Au Pairs from EU countries or Tier 5 countries

If you like us to find a host family for you then register free of charge. If we find the right family for you then the family pays our placement fees, so our services are totally free to Au Pairs! The only thing we ask from you is to show your commitment by spending about 10 minutes to fill in the registration form. This form is quite detailed, but in this way we can ensure that we find the best family for you.
